  • Milestone celebrated at event with key stakeholders
  • Warsaw, June 17, 2014 – Rail technology leader Bombardier Transportation has celebrated a key milestone in its contribution to rail signalling in Poland, with the delivery of its 100th computer-based interlocking (CBI) system on the Polish rail network. The latest generation CBI system has been installed at the Oborniki Slaskie station, on a section of the E-59 transport corridor.

The milestone was celebrated at an event held at Jachranka, close to Warsaw, attended by key customers, including the PKP group, other industry stakeholders and representatives of the press. As well as presentations from Bombardier on the history, status and future for computerised interlocking systems for rail traffic control, participants visited the Nasielsk control centre to see Bombardier’s advanced interlocking and control centre technology in action.

Slawomir Nalewajka, President, Rail Control Solutions Poland, Bombardier Transportation, said: “Bombardier has been involved from the outset, commissioning the first CBI in Poland in 1994 and our latest-generation system since 2009. Committed to the market for over 80 years, we continue to introduce the most advanced rail control technology to improve safety, speed and efficiency, and we look forward to working on the next advancements.”
