Bombardier and Eurolot S.A. Present the First Q400 NextGen Aircraft in a Polish Carrier’s Colours in Poland

Warsaw, May 30, 2012 – Bombardier Aerospace and Eurolot S.A. presented the first of eight state-of-the-art BOMBARDIER Q400 NextGen turboprops ordered by Eurolot S.A. The presentation took place at Warsaw Frederic Chopin airport on May 28 and was attended by the Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, the media and invited guests. Eurolot’s new fleet of modern turboprops will serve the polish carrier’s domestic and international connections. The Q400 NextGen airliner delivers the best operational flexibility in its market segment and is the fastest new-technology turboprop, providing both jet speed and turboprop fuel efficiency. This will allow Eurolot to deploy the aircraft in a variety of markets. Eurolot’s transaction with Bombardier also included an option for an additional 12 aircraft.

“This is a unique and a very important moment in Eurolot’s history. The purchase of Bombardier turboprops means a completely new level of flying comfort for our passengers, and broad opportunities for the development of the airline – we have already expanded our operations into Europe,” said Mariusz Dąbrowski, President of Eurolot S.A. “The Q400 NextGen aircraft is fast, quiet and comfortable. Thanks to this investment, we will have one the most modern fleets in Europe. I am sure that passengers will very quickly appreciate the advantages of the new machine.”

“I am very happy that one of the most modern aircraft in the world, the Bombardier Q400 NextGen turboprop will begin flying in Eurolot’s colors. I say this not just as a representative of the manufacturer, but also as a passenger of Eurolot S.A.,” said Janusz Kućmin, Chief Country Representative for Bombardier Transportation in Poland. “Bombardier employs more than 1,000 people at its four Polish sites, and we are a long-standing supplier of products and services for the rail industry in Poland. I am immensely proud that Eurolot S.A. has become Bombardier’s customer. Now, in addition to locomotives, trams, regional trains and rail traffic control systems, aircraft bearing the Bombardier logo will become a permanent element of the Polish transportation system.”
